As a critical component of the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) Allegiance Hospital, the Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a leader for the newly formed Critical Care Division. Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital is a 475 bed Level 2 Trauma Center with 7 ACGME accredited training programs. The Division Head must be an energetic and thoughtful leader with zeal for the clinical and educational missions of the department. They must also be a competent and prudent steward of the Division, guiding it through new growth and change in the operations and culture of the organization. Importantly, the Division Head must be viewed by all stakeholders as a strong team player and an advocate for interdisciplinary care. Consistent with the organizational values, the Division Head will demonstrate a serious commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity throughout the department and beyond. The recently announced affiliation of the HFHS with the Michigan State University (MSU) provides for an expansion of the department’s academic mission. A major component of this mission is a new, innovative, hybrid residency program based at Allegiance Hospital and in which critical care medicine will play a pivotal part. The Division Head will promote a culture of institutional stewardship that includes commitment to clinical excellence, efficient and effective business operations, and a willingness to re-align resources with evolving clinical needs. The departmental leadership is deeply committed to ensuring that the department is recognized among the best in the nation and will support this new Division Head in helping to move the department toward that goal.
