• Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms
• Positions and applies electrodes in proper location
• Identifies and corrects for wandering, interference and artifact
• Appropriate application of Holter monitors
• Independently performs diagnostic ECG testing
• Manages unmatched list in a timely manner
• Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to all patient orders
• Accurately documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department expectations
• Enters all patient demographic information accurately

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• High school diploma or General Education diploma (Preferred)
• Prior ECG experience with Philips and/or Mortara ECG machines (Preferred)
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (Preferred)
• Experience performing ECGs in a hospital setting (Preferred)

The EKG 1 independently performs diagnostic quality ECGs, SAECG, and Holter monitor hook-ups. Must recognize and alert appropriate personnel to lethal arrhythmias and unstable hemodynamics. Demonstrates scheduling flexibility and is compliant with special requests as situations dictate.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
