Position Responsibilities: - Participate in clinical teaching of family medicine - inpatient and outpatient
- Provide medical services as directed by the Service Line Leader, Department Chair or Residency Program Director or other designee at primary care and other various family medicine sites
- Precept residents and medical students
- Provide formal and informal teaching in residency and student programs at Christiana Care, including but not limited to clinical teaching of family medicine as part of the Family Medicine residency program and clinical teaching.
- Resident recruitment/interviews
- Resident and junior faculty mentorship
- Assist Chair, Program Director and Academic Affairs with implementing successful strategies for:
- Achieving regional and national prominence in family medicine
- Develop initiatives to enhance the health of our community neighbors
- Assist in managing the evaluation process and rotation content for residents and students as directed by the Department Chair, Service Line leader or designee
- Provide leadership and direction for
- Family medicine attendings
- Family medicine residents
- Attendance at professional meetings
- Participate in residency program and departmental activities as assigned by the Department Chair, Service Line leader or designee.
- Participate in research activities, scholarly activities, medical presentations and training, community activities and advocacy activities of the residency program and the department
Position Qualifications: - MD/DO eligible for staff appointment to the Department of Family and Community Medicine
- Excellent communication and public relations skills
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate appropriate medical management of patients of all ages including adolescents in a clinical setting
- Ability to serve as medical spokesperson at public meetings
- Ability to skillfully teach and develop medical curriculum for medical and non-medical personnel
- Ability to analyze raw data and develop public policy or relevant research from the data
