First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a not-for-profit, multi-specialty group seeking to employ a BC/BE Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to join a dedicated team of four (4) Physiatrists and two (2) Advanced Practice Providers in the highly desirable area of Sarasota, Florida.  We are located only minutes from beautiful beaches of Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key on the West Coast of Florida.

The Rehab Pavilion is a 54-bed, free standing facility that opened in April 2017 on the campus of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and it will expand to 60 beds by the end of the year. It is a 74,000 square-foot, five-story Pavilion that accommodates the complex medical, rehabilitation and mobility needs of patients with brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, neurological disorders and orthopedic & musculoskeletal conditions. 

The inpatient rehab unit averages 1,400 admissions per year and has consistently maintained an ADC of 53 patients for the last twelve (12) months.  Our program continues to earn the highest level of accreditation from CARF with the additional certification as a Stroke Specialty provider, and it was ranked #39 in the nation in adult specialty rehabilitation by US News & World Report 2021-2022.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• Physician will focus on providing care to inpatients in the IRF with the option of adding outpatient services in the future.
• The ideal candidate must be proficient with managing medically complex patients.
• The Physician will have a clinical focus in general physical medicine and rehabilitation.
• Schedule will be Monday through Friday with 1:5 rotating weekend call coverage. Weekends will have APP support and there will be a post-call day off the following week.
• Candidate must be a Graduate from an accredited ACGME Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation program.
• Currently licensed in Florida is preferred, but we will consider candidates who need to apply.
