The Heart Institute provides comprehensive pediatric and congenital cardiac care into adulthood as well as pediatric heart transplantation. We have been providing pediatric cardiology services for children with congenital heart disease since 1977.
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) is a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked as a U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital in four pediatric specialties (2022-2023). JHACH is the only US hospital outside the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. location that is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine system.
The Interventional Cardiology team at JHACH performs the full spectrum of cardiac interventions in a dedicated pediatric cath lab, which includes a brand-new state-of-the-art 3D rotational Siemens system. Our current volume is roughly 30 procedures each month (350 annually) with that volume expected to increase. Our Electrophysiology lab is currently having the same Siemens system installed and will be operational in the summer of 2023 and can also serve as a second catheterization lab. The interventional service is supported by 7 well-trained cath lab technologist/nursing team members.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for performing cardiac catheterization in a shared model to cover Monday-Friday in the lab with shared call through the weekends.
The candidate will also participate in inpatient attending activities and outpatient clinics.
Additional responsibilities include participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Participation in service activities on behalf of the department and profession, including being active in national organizations.
